Hey,
I’m wanting to move away from Leeds. Which cities are liberal and open-minded (I know that’s difficult in Britain)? I also need somewhere with lots of nice vintage and second-hand shops and a good music scene. Just somewhere that has something going on in it. Any recommendations?
Thank you.

I’m looking for places that are not London by the way. And to the person who found my ‘assertion slightly offensive’, I’ve grown up in a town where people really look down on you if you wear something that’s a little bit outlandish. Maybe I just have that mindset that there are few open-minded places in Britain because of my experiences here. Man, there’s always that one person who just comments on a question to be a dick. Just leave it if you’re not contributing anything worthwhile.

You may try London, but if you are looking for a smaller city, maybe Birmingham is for you
Colchester, Essex. It’s my favorite city in the entire world. Good music at the Arts Centre, great shopping on the high street, and the scene is so laid-back and culturally diverse. Blur and Jay Kay from Jamiroquai come from there. I love it.
it would actually be difficult to meet all your requirements – i suggest stratford – upon – avon – it has nice second hand shops – and it is not far from warwick which has good individual clothes shops and birmingham is also close by for the music scene
Brighton has what you want.
If you think British cities, such as Leeds, which I know very well, are not pretty liberal, I suggest you have a trip around other parts of Europe. We have come a long way, believe me! You have just had some bad experiences which, hopefully, will not be repeated where you choose to settle.
If you do not want London, have you thought of a move not too far away over to Manchester? Here anything goes. It is a great place to live. I have also lived in London, Glasgow and Edinburgh in the UK, but would live nowhere else now to be honest!
